Passing
of four Friends
Barry Sutherland - 1948
- 2008
Barry was a long time member of both
the Sayward Fish & Game and the Campbell River Gun Club.
He was the Junior Smallbore Director
for many years and trained a number of our juniors who eventually
went on to represent Canada as members of the National team.
Barry was also a very accomplished
shooter in his own right. He won a number of medals in
International Competition including 2 silver medals in
Commonwealth Games competition and competed in a number of
different countries of the world. He will probably be
remembered by many people
as the only person person brave enough to load up a van
and transported our juniors to competitions all over the
province. Trips they will remember forever.
He always taught patience, dedication and fairness to his
athletes and lived by these traits all his life.

Ken Jones
of Campbell River, passed
away on Saturday May 27th, 2006
Ken was a long time member of the
club and held various positions on the Executive from President
to Executive Range Officer to Junior Director over the many
years. He was also a PAL and Core instructor in his spare
time. Like Ken Bennett, he spent many hours at the range,
doing odd jobs ( many of which went almost unnoticed ) and was a
tireless worker to get the new outdoor range facilities working
when we were forced to moved from the Quinsam Rd location

Jan. 15, 1926 - May 27th, 2006
Ken Bennett
of Campbell River passed
away on Monday, February 16th, 2006.
Ken was a long time member of the
club and was seen regularly at Black Powder events. He
held numerous
Executive positions with the club and a lot of his work went
almost unnoticed as he regularly visited the outdoor
facilities and did little jobs to keep the place in order. His commitment
will be missed

Charlie
Gilbert
of Quadra Island British Columbia, passed away on
Thursday, November 10, 2005.
Charlie was
a life time member of the Campbell River Gun Club and for most
of his life was active in the shooting sports
as a coach, manager and official, both locally and
internationally. He was one of the founders of what is now the
BC Target Sports Association and a many times executive member
of the club.
His guidance
will be missed
